Are you a bibliophile? If so, this might be the perfect job for you. The City of Richmond is currently looking to hire a public services support librarian. The salary range for the part-time role is $26.96 to $32.09 per hour and it is an on-call, non-benefitted position.
Per the City and under general supervision, the public services support librarian provides library and information services to the general public; helps with the implementation of programs and activities; assists in the operations of library facilities; and does other related work and projects as required. The person fulfilling this role is also responsible for performing general professional library work in the areas of reference, information and referral and outreach and public relations activities in the children’s and adult’s sections.
To qualify, applicants should be familiar with the principles and practices of librarianship, including cataloging, bibliography, reference, children’s and outreach services. They should also possess any combination of experience and training equivalent to the completion of a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited library school.
