For Richmond’s continuum of community services has recently expanded to empower more Richmond residents than ever before.
The expansion comes this month with the addition of two new affordable housing properties to our Resident Services Program: Triangle Court Apartments, a multifamily property located at 960 Triangle Court, Richmond, and Friendship Manor, a property with senior units located at 568 Stege Ave, Richmond.
Both properties are managed by The John Stewart Company; the management offices for each property are located on-site at each location.
In November 2016, For Richmond began operating a Resident Resource Center at another Richmond property managed by The John Stewart Company: Pullman Point Apartments.
“At the new properties, as with our work at Pullman Point Apartments, we are offering onsite ‘mini-For Richmond’s’ that connect property residents to an array of job, health, safety and educational opportunities that help them thrive,” said For Richmond Executive Director Kyra Worthy.
As part of our partnership with each property, our organization provides easily accessible community services specifically tailored to residents’ needs.
At the Resident Resource Center at Pullman Point Apartments, for example, residents benefit from an array of life-enriching services provided by For Richmond, including: Job training and development; college-prep scholarship, leadership and STEM-based programs for students; after-school recreational and educational activities; the First 5 Parent Café; senior services; health and medical referrals; financial instruction; the Soleil Kids Café daily breakfast program for school children; and many more life-enriching offerings.
For Richmond’s array of services at Triangle Court Apartments and Friendship Manor are still being rolled out, but in many ways will reflect our existing work for residents at Pullman Point Apartments.
“It’s an exciting time for our organization as we expand the reach of our programs and services to more Richmond residents,” said Worthy. “We believe that by empowering our community members through our work, we are helping to build an all-around better Richmond.”
