For Richmond is pleased to welcome Richmond residents to a “Community Meet & Greet” with Richmond native Takkarist “Takk” McKinley to celebrate his recent success as a first-round draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL draft.
The free-admission event is set for Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 1-5 p.m. at For Richmond’s office at 921 Marina Way South, Suite M, Richmond, CA. A BBQ lunch will be served.
Many football fans will recall that McKinley provided the 2017 NFL draft’s stand-out moment when he held up a photo of his beloved late grandmother, whom he promised he would live his dream and someday play for the NFL.
A graduate of Kennedy High in Richmond, McKinley played football for the Eagles and also ran track. He went on to play ball for UCLA as well.
McKinley will take time at the Community Meet & Greet to thank his local mentors and fans for their support. He will also spend quality time with guests and make a special Richmond-related announcement.
RSVPs for the event are required. Attendees should RSVP with their number/names of attendees to firstname.lastname@example.org. The public should contact For Richmond at 510-260-0290 with any event-related questions. Media inquiries should be directed to For Richmond Communications Director Kathy Chouteau at 415.599.6201 (cell).
Parking will be coordinated by the Richmond Police Dept. and will be directed to a lot outside of Artisan Cove. It will be a short walk from the lot to the event; enter Artisan Cove and go right for For Richmond’s office.
“It’s our sincere honor to welcome Takk back to his hometown to celebrate his recent accomplishments and to thank his fans and supporters,” said For Richmond Executive Director Kyra Worthy. “He stands as an extraordinary example to anyone facing extreme obstacles that with hard work and determination, dreams really can come true.”
