If music, food and fun amid the shimmering harbor lights sounds like a splendid way to spend the evening, then For Richmond recommends heading over to the debut of the “Harbour Lights Music Festival.”
Hosted by and at Richmond’s Craneway Pavilion, the free-admission music festival is set for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 15-16, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. each night. A variety of musical acts will perform, ranging from local East Bay performers to nationally and internationally known stars.
In addition to the music, food and beverages will be available for purchase via the venue’s own Assemble Restaurant—all against the breathtaking backdrop of the San Francisco Bay and skyline and Richmond’s harbor lights.
In hosting the first-time festival, venue organizers aim “to bring the community together” and to “have a good time while showcasing the Craneway,” said Spenser Dill, director of business development.
According to Dill, the venue will be adorned in “decorative lights to showcase the building and its historic nature while bringing the room alive” for the festival.
The festival will kick off Friday night with Acoustic Soul warming up the crowd for national headliners Lydia Pense with Cold Blood. Saturday night, Willie G will get the party started, followed by a special appearance by internationally known Maria Muldaur, performing with The Bobby Young Project. Topping off the evening’s festivities will be The Dave Matthews Blues Band.
“The Harbour Lights Music Festival is an excellent opportunity for the Richmond community to come together and enjoy music and dancing amid one of our city’s greatest wonders, its shoreline,” said Kyra Worthy, executive director of For Richmond. “We commend the Craneway Pavilion for hosting what is sure to be a memorable event.”
