MCE Clean EnergyJob Watch: MCE Hiring Four Community Affairs Reps, a local government renewable energy provider, is searching for four individuals to serve as community affairs representatives within its Public Affairs Department. The roles are fellowship opportunities spanning a 10 month period; salaries are paid via stipend based on an approximate $20 per hour wage.
According to MCE, fellows will be employees of Climate Corps and assigned to support the MCE Public Affairs Team in the following areas: Social media and community engagement; business development; environmental justice and “English as a Second Language” communications; and climate, energy and greenhouse gas inventory planning.
In supporting MCE’s Public Affairs Department, the community affairs representatives will spearhead public education initiatives re: MCE’s program and help enroll new communities in 2018. The roles offer the opportunity to gain experience and understanding of the renewable electricity utility industry, public (government) sector programs, environmental initiatives and community outreach and engagement, per MCE.
For these roles, the company reports that it seeks self-starters who can work independently while meeting deadlines. Applicants should be comfortable working with people and have a general knowledge of renewable energy, climate change and sustainability.
