Heads up bibliophiles! The Richmond Public Library is looking to hire a part-time public services support librarian and the gig pays $26.96 – $32.09 per hour.
According to the library, the position’s responsibilities include providing library and information services to the public; spearheading the implementation of programs and activities; assisting in the operations of library facilities; and performing other related tasks and projects as requested. The person filling this role will be responsible for performing general professional library work in the areas of reference, information and referral, as well as outreach and public relations activities in the children’s and adult’s sections.
Qualified applicants will be familiar with the principles and practices of librarianship, including cataloging, bibliography, reference, children’s and outreach services. The library also seeks candidates with any combination of experience and training equivalent to the completion of a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited library school.
