This August, National Night Out activities will be coming to Pullman Point Apartments courtesy of For Richmond, The John Stewart Company and the Richmond Police Officers Association.
Celebrated by millions of people across the county, National Night Out aims to bring residents together with their local public safety agencies to strengthen community connections and reduce crime.
Pullman Point Apartments’ celebration, which is set for Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, from 5-8:30 p.m., welcomes residents of all ages from the property to come out for festivities that will include a variety of fun activities, carnival-style attractions and an evening BBQ dinner.
As part of the event’s lineup, there will be a range of exciting carnival games and rides such as the ever-popular spinning teacups and a slide that both the kids and adults in attendance can enjoy.
“Part of For Richmond’s mission is about increasing the safety of the Richmond residents,” said For Richmond Executive Director Kyra Worthy. “Hosting a National Night Out celebration is one impactful way we can strengthen the bonds and open new communication channels between local law enforcement and community members.”
Representatives from the Richmond Police Department, including Lt. Joey Schlemmer—For Richmond’s Board Chair and a member of the Steering Committee who helped organize the event—will be on hand to mix and mingle with community members.
While the National Night Out event at Pullman Point Apartments is exclusively open to residents of the apartment complex, it is one of numerous celebrations that will be held at various locations that same evening throughout the city of Richmond.
