Rich City residents seeking to support a local organization while tapping into some tasty local brews need look no further than the “Summer Solstice Soiree” slated for Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Benoit-Casper Brewery.
Scheduled from Noon to 6 p.m. at the brewery’s taproom at 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue in Richmond, the free-admission, family-friendly shindig will include music, dancing, locally grown food, Richmond-made brews and more.
Per event organizers on Facebook, the event will be “a day celebrating the beautiful things growing in Richmond.”
And the best part? A whopping 100 percent of taproom sales for the day will be donated to support the work of Urban Tilth, a Richmond-based nonprofit that hosts several community gardens focused on sustainable agriculture.
Urban Tilth and Benoit-Casper recently collaborated on an herbal Saison—a seasonal pale ale—that is infused with fresh sage, rosemary and thyme, all “stemming” from Urban Tilth’s gardens around the community. The new brew will be one of the highlights of the big celebration Saturday.
Benoit-Casper Brewing Company was launched in 2014 by two longtime friends, Marc Benoit and Chad Casper, with a passion for craft brews. The brewery has four trademark beers it makes year-round in addition to several seasonal and specialty ales.
On a side note, Benoit-Casper happens to be looking for a part-time East Bay sales representative, and is hoping for candidates that are intrigued by various aspects of their business as they are something of a ‘startup.’ Interested individuals can send an email to email@example.com.
Urban Tilth was founded in 2005 with the vision of fostering a sustainable, healthy and just local food system.
