Want a job where you can make a difference in the lives of local children? The West Contra Costa Unified School District is seeking a preschool instructional assistant for the transitional kindergarten at Wilson Elementary in Richmond.
The part-time role pays $15.45-$18.32 per hour over a 6.5 hour workday.
Per the WCCUSD, key responsibilities for the role include performing paraprofessional instructional activities as directed by a teacher in the Transitional Kindergarten Program; fulfilling general clerical program duties; utilizing specialized skills learned in this classification for the care, supervision and teaching of preschool students; and performing other related tasks and duties as required.
Requirements for applicants include having a high school diploma or the equivalent; six Early Childhood Education units—or demonstrated ability to complete necessary training within the district or at an accredited college/university—and the ability to pass the WCCUSD’s proficiency exam, or possession of an AA or higher degree that demonstrates completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units from an accredited college/university.
In addition, two years of previous successful, demonstrated experience working with preschool/kindergarten age children is required.
