Wine Warehouse, a well-known distributor of fine wines, handcrafted beers and spirits, is currently looking to fill the position of day warehouse worker at its Richmond location. The full-time position requires the ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays if required.
Key responsibilities for the position include, under supervision, following oral/written work orders in the storage or movement of received stock, equipment or merchandise; using hand truck or power devices to haul material to and from storage or work sites to designated areas; and storing items in bins, on the floor or on shelves for easy removal.
According to Wine Warehouse, other responsibilities for the position include: checking and receiving inbound products and unloading shipments utilizing a forklift; pulling customer and salespersons’ orders using warehouse equipment; accounting for broken products, including proper cleanup/disposal; restocking cases and pallets in proper location in a neat and orderly manner; rotating warehouse inventory; cleaning up warehouse/restrooms; sorting pallets and empty beer kegs; checking in all driver returns and delivery invoices and restocking customer returns in warehouse; and ensuring equipment is in working condition and reporting equipment problems to management.
Job requirements include having two-to-three years of experience working in a warehouse/distribution environment; ability to operate forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks and reach trucks (company will train/certify); basic reading, writing and math aptitude; ability to follow instructions; and a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
There are a host of physical requirements for the position, including being able to lift 50 pounds or more repetitively throughout work hours.
